Nika + Zapier Integration
LiveNika connects to Zapier and fires triggers when invoices are processed, approved, or flagged for review. You build Zaps that route those events to thousands of apps — Slack notifications, Google Sheets rows, Notion tasks, email alerts — without writing any code. This integration is live and working today.
What this does
Nika exposes invoice events as Zapier triggers. When Nika processes an invoice, approves one, or flags one for human review, a webhook fires into Zapier. From there you connect any of Zapier’s 7,000+ app integrations: post a summary to Slack, append a row to Google Sheets, create a task in Asana, send an email, or trigger a custom workflow. The invoice data — vendor, amount, tax, line items — is available as mapped fields in every Zap step.
Data flow
Nika processes invoice → trigger fires (invoice.processed / invoice.approved / invoice.flagged) → Zapier receives webhook → mapped fields (vendor, amount, tax, line items) available → your Zap routes the data to Slack, Sheets, Notion, email, or any of 7,000+ apps.
Setup
- 1
Connect Nika to Zapier
In your Nika dashboard, go to Integrations → Zapier and click Connect. You are redirected to Zapier to authorise the Nika app. Once connected, Nika’s triggers appear in your Zap editor.
- 2
Choose a trigger
Select the event that starts your Zap: New Invoice Processed, Invoice Approved, or Invoice Flagged for Review. Each carries the full invoice data as mapped fields.
- 3
Configure your action step(s)
Pick the app you want to send data to — Slack, Google Sheets, Notion, Gmail, Asana, or any of Zapier’s integrations. Map Nika’s fields (vendor, amount, tax, line items) to the destination app’s fields.
- 4
Test and turn on
Zapier walks you through a test using a recent Nika invoice event. Confirm the data lands correctly in your destination app, then turn the Zap on. New events trigger automatically from that point.
Limitations
- Zapier task limits apply based on your Zapier plan — high invoice volumes may require a paid Zapier tier. Each Nika trigger consumes one Zapier task per event.
- Real-time triggers depend on Zapier’s polling or instant-webhook latency — typically seconds, but not guaranteed synchronous.
- Field mapping is configured per Zap. If Nika adds new data fields in a future update, you must update your Zap to include them.
- Complex multi-step Zaps (filters, paths, delays) require Zapier’s paid plans. The Nika trigger itself works on any Zapier tier.
Works best with
Businesses that want invoice events to drive downstream workflows without custom code — finance teams that need invoice approvals to notify Slack, ops teams that log invoices into Sheets or Notion, or anyone who wants invoice data to flow into their existing tool stack automatically.
Questions
What invoice events can trigger a Zap?
Three triggers are available: New Invoice Processed (Nika has extracted the data), Invoice Approved (you or your team approved it in the dashboard), and Invoice Flagged for Review (Nika found something unusual and routed it for human check). Each carries vendor, amount, tax, line items, and a link back to the invoice in Nika.
Do I need a paid Zapier plan?
The Nika trigger works on any Zapier plan, including the free tier. However, high invoice volumes or multi-step Zaps (filters, paths, formatting steps) may require a paid Zapier plan. Each trigger event consumes one Zapier task. Check Zapier’s current task limits against your monthly invoice volume.
