Nika + Stripe Integration

Nika does not yet connect to the Stripe API directly. What works today: Nika reads Stripe receipt and invoice emails that arrive in your connected Gmail or Outlook inbox and extracts the payment data. A direct Stripe API integration — pulling charges, matching them to invoices, and reconciling fees — is on the roadmap.

What this does

Today, Nika processes Stripe notification emails (payment receipts, invoice emails) through your connected inbox. It extracts customer, amount, currency, transaction ID, and fee data from those emails. When the direct Stripe API integration launches, Nika will pull charge data directly, match payments to supplier or customer invoices, and reconcile Stripe fees automatically — no email dependency required.

Data flow

Today: Stripe email notifications → Gmail/Outlook inbox → Nika extracts payment data → CSV export. Planned: Stripe API → Nika pulls charges, fees, payouts → matches to invoices → reconciles automatically.

Setup

    Connect your inbox (Gmail or Outlook)

    Nika processes Stripe receipt emails through your connected email. Ensure Stripe notification emails reach the connected inbox.

    Nika extracts payment data from Stripe emails

    Customer name, amount, currency, transaction ID, and Stripe fees are captured from receipt and invoice emails.

    Review and export

    Export extracted Stripe transactions as CSV for reconciliation in your accounting system.

    Future: direct Stripe API connection

    When the API integration ships, connect your Stripe account directly. Nika will pull all charges, match them to invoices, and reconcile fees without relying on email notifications.

Limitations

  • No direct Stripe API connection yet — Nika reads Stripe emails, not the Stripe dashboard.
  • Email-based processing captures only what Stripe includes in notifications. Detailed charge metadata (disputes, refunds, payout-level data) is not available until the API ships.
  • Fee reconciliation is approximate from email data — the API integration will provide exact Stripe fee breakdowns.
  • Subscription billing cycles with multiple partial payments may not be fully captured from individual receipt emails.

Works best with

Businesses that receive a manageable volume of Stripe payments and want basic receipt data captured automatically today. For high-volume Stripe merchants needing real-time fee reconciliation and payout matching, wait for the direct API integration.

Questions

Can Nika match Stripe payments to my invoices today?

Partially. Nika extracts payment data from Stripe receipt emails, but full charge-to-invoice matching requires the direct API integration, which is coming soon. Today, the CSV export gives you the raw payment data to reconcile manually.

Does Nika process Stripe fees and payouts?

From email data, Nika captures fee amounts that appear in Stripe receipt emails. For precise payout-level reconciliation (net settlement, currency conversion fees, chargeback adjustments), the API integration is needed. It is on the roadmap.
