Nika + Slack Integration

Live

Nika posts invoice processing summaries directly to a Slack channel of your choice. Each batch — daily or on-demand — includes the count of invoices processed, total value, per-vendor breakdown, and any anomalies flagged for review. This integration is live and working today.

What this does

Nika posts to Slack at the cadence you choose. A daily digest summarises everything processed that day — number of invoices, total value, top vendors by spend, and any invoices Nika flagged for human review (unusual amounts, missing fields, duplicate detection). On-demand posts can be triggered from the Nika dashboard after any batch approval. The message includes a link back to the dashboard for drill-down.

Data flow

Approved invoices in Nika → summary compiled (count, totals, vendor breakdown, flagged items) → posted to your Slack channel via Slack Web API → team sees the digest and clicks through to Nika for detail.

Setup

  1. 1

Create or pick a Slack channel

Choose an existing channel (e.g. #finance, #invoices) or create a dedicated one. Nika posts there only.

  2. 2

Connect Nika to Slack via OAuth

Click Connect in your Nika dashboard. You are redirected to Slack’s OAuth screen to approve posting permissions for the selected workspace and channel. Revoke access anytime from Slack’s app management page.

  3. 3

    Choose your posting cadence

Set a daily digest time (e.g. 17:00 local), or opt for on-demand posts only. You can change this at any time from the dashboard.

  4. 4

    Start receiving summaries

As Nika processes and approves invoices, summaries are posted automatically. Each message links back to the dashboard for line-item detail.

Limitations

  • Nika posts summaries, not raw invoice data — Slack is a notification surface, not a data store. Full invoice detail stays in the Nika dashboard.
  • Posting cadence is daily digest or on-demand only — real-time per-invoice posts would flood most channels and are not supported.
  • Slack channel membership governs who sees the summaries. Nika does not manage access — your Slack workspace admin controls that.
  • Messages are plain text with a dashboard link; rich interactive blocks are not included in the first release.

Works best with

Finance or operations teams that already work in Slack and want invoice visibility without opening another tool. Ideal for companies where a manager needs a daily "what came in" pulse without personally reviewing every invoice.

Questions

Does Nika post every single invoice to Slack?

No — that would flood your channel. Nika posts a digest (daily or on-demand) summarising processed invoices, with totals, vendor breakdown, and any flagged items. Each post links to the dashboard for the full line-item detail.

Can I choose which Slack channel Nika posts to?

Yes. During setup you pick the exact channel. You can change it anytime from the Nika dashboard. Nika only posts to that channel and nothing else in your workspace.
