🚚 Free Delivery Note Template

Below is the structure of a delivery note — the document that accompanies a shipment and serves as proof of delivery.

A delivery note goes with a shipment and is signed by the receiver as proof that goods arrived. It lists what was delivered, not what it costs. The signed copy is your protection against disputes.

How to use

  1. 1Send one copy with the goods and keep a signed copy for your records.
  2. 2Train drivers to wait for a signature before leaving.
  3. 3If goods are damaged, have the receiver note it on the delivery note before signing.

Or automate this

Creating delivery notes manually is repetitive. Nika generates them from order data and tracks proof of delivery — from {price} per delivery.

Questions

Difference between a delivery note and a packing slip?

A delivery note includes proof of delivery (signature, date received) and is signed by the receiver. A packing slip lists contents for the buyer to check. In practice, many businesses combine both into one document.

Is a delivery note legally required?

Not universally, but it is the standard proof that goods were delivered. Without a signed delivery note, the buyer can claim non-delivery and you have no evidence.
